This Villa is very unique in many different ways. It started off with the name Villa Barbarigo from the Barbarigo family who owned the property in the 1700's. The family started the construction appointing well known architects like Luigi Bernini who worked with baroque landscapes. The idea was to take the long alleyway paths and play with the effects of distance. The main axis that leads up to the villa was slowly widened as it become closer to the villa and as the landscape escalates upward. The reason for the height was so that the distance of the villa would look much closer than what it really was, and the reason for the widening was so that the distance would seam farther than what you really expected. The garden has many ways to fool the eye, it also has hedges with cut outs so that you could see a sculpture in the distance, lots of natural flowing water that comes in from a canal this is a very amusing place to be. Barbarigo later pasted through six generations and the Dona Dalle Rose purchased the land and have since kept it as original as it has been.
